Cullinane welcomes action on Lonsdale site

Joe has welcomed the action taken to clean up the old Lonsdale pub site in the town which comes just days after he made a plea for action on the site.

Following Joe’s intervention North Ayrshire Council took action to ensure that the owner of the land cleaned up the site and made it safe with new fencing. Had they failed to do so North Ayrshire Council would have taken enforcement action on the matter.

Speaking after the site was cleared Joe said;

“I am pleased that, only days after I made my call for action, the site has been cleaned up and made safe with new fencing.”

“This is a key site for the town and it had been allowed to slip into a state of disrepair. It may not be the eyesore that it was a week or so ago but the aim must now be to see it developed so that it offers something to the town again – whether that be a commercial or residential use. I am seeking a meeting with the owner to discuss their plans for the site.”
