Potholes

Constituents throughout Kilwinning have complained about the state of local roads. I've started doing some walk rounds and have already reported around 50 defects but I am also asking roads officers to come with me to take note of the defects.

I offered on Facebook to use my website as a tool for constituents to report potholes. You can use this page to help direct where we do our walkabouts.

To report a road that has more potholes than surface area. I am being glib of course, but it is really bad. The road is the Weirston Road from Corsehill to the Irvine Road. This is a narrow road and so you don’t have any room to avoid the holes. It’s also a very busy road it’s a shorter route from Corsehill to Irvine, and it avoids the traffic speed camera, not that I’m insinuating that is why it’s busy, as it was always busy long before the camera appeared

But all kidding aside, this road is in danger of causing damage to cars and by trying to avoid them, could cause an accident which might prove fatal as many people still walk on this road. I am also putting it on here so if some driver gets damage to his/her vehicle, or a pedestrian is hurt or worse, then if it happens after this is received, the authority responsible for the maintenance of this road, can be held accountable by anyone be it a driver or a pedestrian.

I would like to thank you Joe for giving your constituents a platform that can make those who decide what roads get repaired, accountable for any or all damages to persons or vehicles, and I am happy to have it posted publicly, as it defeats the point otherwise.

Severe potholes along full length of Redstone Avenue, which being a bus route, surprised Stagecoach/Shuttlebus haven’t made a complaint or claim. They are practically unavoidable! Weirston Road leading onto Bannoch Road, exiting at Irvine Road at Dirrans. So severe that someone is going to either shatter an alloy or break suspension!
