Reason 21: A Warm Home Act

Latest figures show that 39% of households in North Ayrshire are living in Fuel Poverty.

Scottish Labour will introduce a Warm Homes Act to create jobs and to tackle fuel poverty and climate change.

A Warm Homes Act for Scotland will ensure energy demand is reduced and investment in energy efficiency, renewables and district heating is encouraged. Legislation is required to create the right policy framework that supports industry, protects consumers and cuts energy bills. A Scottish Warm Homes Act would update legislation so that we can make our homes and workplaces warmer.  The Act would improve building regulation and change existing rules which stop Scots from using new heating technologies.
